Our 8th-grade scientists are shifting into high gear! Under the guidance of Mr. Vines, students recently stepped into the roles of automotive engineers to design and test custom spoilers for NASCAR race cars.
After perfecting their aerodynamic designs, the class took their models to the track to test them. This hands-on project isn't just about speed—it’s about the math and science behind the movement. Students are currently using the data from their trials to calculate velocity and determine how different spoiler angles and shapes impact overall performance.
